Question : How do you choose a great bottle of wine to impress a date, a guest, your boss or when you just want a nice glass of wine with dinner but you’re not an expert or sommelier and don’t want to spend a lot of money?

Answer: Ask an expert. The Frugal Snob relies on The Wine Library and Robert Parker…

Today’s recommendation is 2010 Domaine Tournon Mathilda Shiraz

From the first taste to the last, this wine is not only enjoyable, but gets better with each sip …

You don’t often get a wine as exciting as this 2010 Domaine Tournon Mathilda Shiraz. available at the Wine Libary expecially for the amazingly frugal price of $11.98/bottle. Boys and girls… buy a case of this stuff… I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

Served it at dinner last night, and here are the comments

“Nice body out of the bottle ”

“Soft tannins”

“Deep Ruby Color” “Nice mouth feel” “Smooth, fruity, spicy.”

“So  much body it’s almost syrupy…but dry ”

Even more remarkably …the wine improved as it breathed ..

This why the Frugal Snob relies on experts and ratings when I shop, so I have assurance I getting what I’m paying for or more than I’m paying for… as in the case with this wine.
